Real time Information

Real time data is one of the gretest changes made by advancing  technology avaliable to us ; it  denotes information that is delievered immediately after collection. Thereis no delay in the timeliness of the information provided and its uploaded constantly. Realtime data is often used for navigation, tracking,Traffic, Ticket booking , Parcel tracking and news.  Real time informationns palys a huge part in the daily lives of eveyr individual whether they view the information themselves or hear about it through another individual.

Advantages of real-time information.
The system is immediately updated therefore providing vital information for people. For example passenger waiting for Train or flight.
There will be (in most cases) no processing lag caused by the system.

If purchasing ticket, that same ticket cannot be sold to some else after already being sold to someone.
The weather forecast is an example of real time data. You can use real data to find the weather report in your area. The weather report is often updated online, therefore making people aware of the weather condition and making them plan for the day. The use of weather forecast through real-time isn’t just shown on websites and T.V. it can also be used within mobiles provided the mobiles have application to allow this. As our world develops, it’s easier for almost every member of the public to gain access one way or the other to real time information. I personally check the weather updates on BBC before school especially during winter. If it’s going to be a snowy day or a rainy day, I get prepared by getting my willies on, rain coat and umbrella.
Another example is the information screen which you can see in the airport, bus stop and train stations. This is very important because it use in keeping customers informed about delays and scheduled changes. Though public address system have traditionally been the communication system of choice with familiar announcer calling a common sound in most railway station. But LCD screens provide railway and station operators an ideal platform for keeping customer informed and displaying timetable information, news of delays and scheduling changes.
Advantages of using information screen.
The great advantage of using a LCD screen is for the immediacy. As soon as the station hears of delays, this information can be uploaded to the screen for the customer to see.

Disavantages of using Information screen.
If the information is displayed for public screen viewing for example in an airport , You will have to keep referring back to the source to find out the main information rather than a beneficial paper based copy for your personal viewing. Going back to the screen may prove time consuming.

Online communication

Communication: is the activity of conveying meaningful information. The ways communication is used are becoming very essential around the world today such as the use of mobile Phone, email, instance message and social websites. Communication requires a sender and an intended recipient, although the receiver needs to be present or aware of the senders intent to communicate at the time of communication, thus communication can occur across vast distance in times and space. I personally use mobile phones when am in an emergency.  It’s also easier to use mobiles phone as people often reply quickly to mobile messages than emails. Expect from that, my family use skype, to contact friend back in Nigeria. It’s cheaper and we can get to see them through their live webcam.  http://www.skype.com/intl/en-gb/home. Skype is not only used at home. You can also get skype for business. You can Collaborate, communicate and work smarter with colleagues, customers and clients by putting Skype to work in your business. You can also get skype on you mobile phone. You must be on laptop or computers to be on skype. You can also get skype on the TV, make free widescreen video calls from the comfort of your living room.

Disadvantages of using skype.
If the internet connection is slow, and you can make calls, in this case, the sound may be a bit jaggy or you may have awkward delays in transmission

Advantages of using skype

It’s excellent for calling international

If you don’t have skype number, it doesn’t matter where in the world you are, you can still get hold of that person. If you are out, the calls will be forwarded to your phone.

You can check the prices of calls to different destinations on the Skype home page - http://www.skype.com/intl/en/ Calls to other Skype users anywhere in the world are free.

It’s unlikely to get viruses through skype. You don’t have to receive any files from people who you don’t trust. You can refuse to accept any file sent to you over the chat programme. It's worth, however, looking at the privacy settings in the Skype software to restrict who is allowed to call you - unless you want to be pestered by strangers from all over the world at all hours.

You don’t have to be on the computer or laptop to access skype. You can get in your mobile, Television etc

Advantages of online communication

The speed of delivery is faster and saves time. For instance you wouldn’t have to read a whole dozen of books to get information’s, you can easily type the words and search it.

The ability to send to multiple recipients. This is very useful in a school organisation such as if the school conveys a survey, rather than posting it to each parent, they can email to all parents at once.

Easy to stay in contact with you families in other countries or distance from you.

It’s made a major elimination of language barrier in the fact that people speaking different languages can connect socialise or trade via the internet with the now use of a language translator

Disadvantages

A significant disadvantage is that older generation finds it difficult to catch up with the ever changing and numerous technologies available today.

In some communication, there is no substitute face-to-face meeting. (Non verbal communication is lost).

Online communication is now used in creating riots such as use of twitter and face book etc .The event that started the riot in North Africa was through the use of face book.
You can enjoy skype :
At the comfort of your home
in you office

on you phones, i-pod, Tv and Xbox
